When it comes to beauty, It’s always better to invest in good skincare, rather than makeup. Question is, how much are you willing to invest?
Sunday Riley Good Genes Treatment ($105.00) is an all-in-one lactic acid brightening, multitasking, radiance treatment and mask. While I love using this as a serum at night, at this price, I haven’t tried using this as a mask treatment- I’d just feel awful about dispensing recommended five pumps and then rinsing the product off after 30 minutes. Yikes!
“Everyone wants the unmistakable look of having good genes. This hydrating treatment is formulated with key ingredients that plump the look of fine lines to reveal brighter, renewed skin, and support natural circulation to create a smooth, vibrant complexion. Long term use will help restore damaged skin, reduce hyperpigmentation and scars, reduce the depth and number of lines and wrinkles, even out skintone, and increase skin firmness.”
What I love:
-first thing’s first- the packaging- it comes in a glass bottle that has a pump, which, as you can guess, I love.
-brings overnight results- I noticed that my skin looked brighter after a very first use
-helps with healing acne scars/age spots
-leaves skin feeling very smooth
-delivers on most claims made on the packaging- the results are very impressive
-a little bit goes a long way- this serum is very potent and one pump is all I need to treat my face and neck
What I don’t love:
-if you have sensitive skin, you might find this serum a bit irritating
-it’s pricey, I know, and the truth is, I will most likely repurchase this serum, but I do want to mention that with nightly use (meaning using only one pump daily, at bedtime) my bottle is almost empty and I’ve been using it for only about two weeks.
Here’s the thing, I really, really love this serum. I think it’s perfect for anyone who suffers from dull skin or hyper pigmentation. The only problem that I have, as I just mentioned above, is that the bottle lasted me for only two weeks. This is why I’d have trouble recommending this, because while it does bring amazing results, I know that not everyone can afford to splurge on a product like this one. I think that there are a ton of really good AHA products out there that are much more affordable, but at the same time, I haven’t come across a product this impressive, in a very long time.
I had problematic skin, for as long as I can remember and I can’t tell you how much money I’ve spent over the years on high-end products that did absolutely nothing for my skin. The Sunday Riley Good Genes Treatment is different. I’m definitely impressed and will repurchase.
Have you tried any Sunday Riley products?

This sounds absolutely delicious for the skin, but for the price! Ah why does it have to be that expensive lol. Definitely going to try a sample if I can get hold of that.

March 18, 2016 at 12:25 pmI got a sample of this and it didn’t make much of a difference since it was just a sample. I want to get the full size of this but it’s so pricy. My skin has been getting a little worse recently but since you say that this has been helping your skin, I might have to splurge.

March 18, 2016 at 4:44 pmTwo weeks use out of a 30ml product??! That’s crazy!! I used a sample of this and like it but I couldn’t justify that price if it only lasts for 2 weeks! xx

March 18, 2016 at 5:00 pmSO true that you need to invest in skin care first and make up second. Swear to god since I started really caring about my skin I needed so much less make up!xx lacoconoire.com

March 18, 2016 at 10:09 pmI’m all for investing in skincare but I can’t believe this bottle only lasted you about two two weeks. I almost don’t want to try this because if I love it then I feel like I’ll be in a dilemma of how often I should repurchase, given the price.

March 19, 2016 at 5:54 amI’ve never heard of 30ml serum lasting only 2 weeks! As much as impressive it sounds I can’t justify buying it at the moment. I’m still shocked it lasted you only for 2 weeks! LOL! x

March 19, 2016 at 10:27 amI’ve heard so much about this product but I couldn’t justify spending that much on a product that only lasts a short amount of time!

March 21, 2016 at 3:00 amI have been so conflicted as to whether I should purchase this. While I’ve heard such amazing things about it, I just can’t stomach that price especially after hearing it only lasted you two weeks! As someone with problem skin as well I know how important it is to invest in great quality skincare but I’m not sure if I can justify this one. The results do sound incredibly amazing though. Might need to investigate some more! x

March 22, 2016 at 11:51 amI hear ya! This is why I had such a difficult time recommending it- because I know that so many of us have different budgets, even though it is an amazing product.

May 7, 2016 at 12:07 pmI have this & use it 4 or 5 nights in a row one week a month as a pick me up & it’s lasted me over a year with still plenty left. The fact that yours is almost gone after 2 weeks baffles me. The way I justify the price of it is that a little goes such a long way so I’m stunned at your experience of it, that’s very strange.
