St. Tropez In Shower Tanning Lotion
When I heard that one of my favorite self-tan brand is coming out with an in-shower tanning lotion, I was beyond excited.
It was like a perfect solution; the idea seemed to be super convenient and quick. I was so excited about this stuff that I bought two bottles, as soon as it went up for sale. After few weeks of use I can tell you that there are definitely pros and cons to this products. Reading through many, many reviews, I can see that a lot people feel the same way about this product.
Few very good things about this tanning lotion:
– it’s not messy or runny like some mousse products tend to be
-it doesn’t have that typical “self-tanner” smell, the scent is actually pleasant
-skin feels very smooth upon application
-the color is very gradual, which means that you can control how deep you want it to be (depending on how often you use it)
-it doesn’t stain easily (hands, nails, cuticles)
-looks natural
-application was easy, streak-free and very even
Things that I did not like about this product:
-upon application on wet skin, you turn your shower off, apply the self-tan lotion and wait 3 minutes. This can not only be a little awkward, standing in the shower, waiting for the three minutes to be up, but you will also get cold, since the water needs to be turned off. If you’re an inpatient person like I am, you will not like that.
-the color is very, very gradual-this is both a good and bad thing, depending on your skin tone. If you’re fair, then you’re going to love the gradual effect that will look extremely natural; if you’re not exceptionally pale, then you will probably not see any results after first one or two uses.
-if you want a really nice and deep color, you need to use this product every day and leave it on for 5 minutes. This means that it will take you just a couple short weeks to go through the bottle, since you’d be using a whole lot of product.
As you guys know, my skin is quite fair, and even I couldn’t see any results after first use. But, I will tell you that if you already have that natural, summer tan on your skin, St. Tropez In Shower Tanning Lotion will definitely help to enhance it. I think that all my pale girls and boys who don’t like an overly fake and deep looking tan, would like this product quite a lot. If you want a deep, golden tan, this product might not be for you, unless you’re willing to use it every single day.
I will definitely continue to use this lotion, I just love how natural it makes my tan look. This product is definitely not for everyone, but I think it’s a great, big step in the right direction and I hope that St. Tropez will work on and eventually improve the formula to provide better results. Have any of you guys tried this yet?

July 19, 2015 at 11:16 amOh this sounds very interesting as I have been “scared” of self tanners for forever (more of the whole application and blotchiness)! But my skintone is already quite olive so I’m not sure whether it’d be worth the hassle?
I really like your product reviews btw. , as you’ve got a very honest approach :) x

July 19, 2015 at 11:28 amI have a 50ml sample of this but i think it all sounds a little too much effort for a colour that is barely there x

July 19, 2015 at 11:36 amI’ve heard such mixed reviews on this product, so undecided as to whether I should try it or not. Great review! xx

July 19, 2015 at 3:44 pmThis sounds really promising love! I like that it enhances your tan and gives off a subtle glow instead of being too heavy. Natural looking tans are definitely the best kind and the pros all sound pretty good, especially liking that the product isn’t messy or runny and the scent sounds lovely. And of course, the in-shower factor is something different which is cool. I’m deffo impatient too, so I’m not sure I’d be so good at the waiting around part hehe. Loving the look of it, the packaging is so tropically gorgeous <3

July 19, 2015 at 3:46 pmI don’t like the idea of standing cold in the shower for three minutes, it’s the only thing that puts me off!

July 20, 2015 at 4:35 pmOh gosh I’m not sure how I feel about waiting 3 minutes in the shower for it to “dry” but sounds really interesting!! P.S. have you done a nail polish tutorial – your skills are amazing – looks like a professional mani! xo, biana –BlovedBoston

July 21, 2015 at 7:02 amIn theory it sounds like a fab product but considering I’ve already got a summer tan from being out & about in London, I don’t think I would see much a difference. Plus I would hate the waiting around in the shower for 3 minutes x

July 21, 2015 at 12:53 pmOoh, this seems like an intriguing product despite the waiting around.. Really need to get back on the self tanning game but I’m so poor when it comes to application:’)
