Are you updating your beauty look this spring?
Spring is all about renewal, fresh and vibrant colors, but at the same time, it kind of makes me think of minimal, more delicate makeup. When updating my beauty routine this spring, one of my goals is to actually wear *less* makeup. Two things I refuse to skip are my brow pencils and mascara, but I have no problem leaving behind heavier foundations, brow pomades and brown-nude lipsticks.
iT Cosmetics CC+ Cream in Fair has been my go-to base lately. It’s a great multitasker, although I still wear my SPF lotion under it. It blends easily, gives nice coverage and a natural finish. Another multitasking base that I’m loving right now is Lioele Triple the Solution BB Cream.- one of the best BB creams I’ve ever used, but, unfortunately it only comes in one shade.
I’m giving my brownish nudes a little rest at the moment, and instead I go for colors like Faux from MAC– which is similar to my other favorite: Modesty. Faux has a satin finish and is a gorgeous muted pink-mauve color. Another shade I’m loving this spring is NYX’s Soft Matte Lip cream in San Paulo which is a sort of a deep pink with some red undertones. This shade is gorgeous for spring because it’s so vibrant, but not overwhelmingly so. Now that my hair is short, I find it so much easier to pull off bright colors. And as you probably know I love the formula of these Matte Lip Creams, they’re seriously amazing!
For blush, I usually like taupe-y shades, but for the last week or so I actually surprised myself by reaching for very pink/peachy colors like Becca’s Flowerchild or Bare Minerals Charm– which was a limited edition release.. These bright blush shades are usually a bit less forgiving than cool, taupe-y shades, so I always have to make sure to do a good job at *blending* them well into my skin. Even though both of these blushes are pretty bright, I still like to add just enough to add a little bit of color to my complexion.
There are also so many new, beautiful releases in the beauty world this season, but since one of my goals for this spring is to wear less makeup, I’m definitely going to try to use some of the stuff I already have. Although I did just throw out a bunch of old foundations and really want to try something new….. :D
