THIRTEEN THOUGHTS

Pixi Book of Beauty: Minimal Makeup

Pixi-Book-of-Beauty--Minimal-Makeup

Time for another dose of Pixi!

This handy little Pixi Book of Beauty: Minimal Makeup palette is described as “an easy-to-use palette that has everything you need for that “barely there” look” and it’s absolutely perfect for creating that natural, sort of a runway-inspired look.

This curated collection creates a stunning and sophisticated look for complexion & eyes. Whether you are a makeup minimalist or just in the mood for some subtle enhancing, you’ll love the satin luminosity that these favourites create. Palette includes 2 highlighters, 2 cheek shades, and 4 eye shades. Define eyes by sweeping the matte nude shade over lids and the matte cocoa shade into creases. Line eyes with the satin brown and dot the satin nude onto center of lids. Buff a blush shade onto apples of cheeks. Dust a highlighting shade onto cheekbones, bow of lip, and inner corners of eyes.

What I love:

-all shades included in this palette are beautiful
-one of the eyeshadow colors is also perfect for filling in my brows
-cheek shades are easy to blend, with a gorgeous finish (the peachy one is is matte, taupe-y one has a sheen finish) and aren’t overly pigmented, which is something I do like when it comes to blushes
-all shades included in this palette blend nicely, they also all create a very natural look, aren’t overly shimmery, glittery or chunky
-perfect for creating minimal, delicate looks
-these shades work amazing with my light skin tone (this is something that I love about makeup products from Pixi- they all work nicely with my skin tone)

What I don’t love:

-these powders could be a bit more long-lasting. Just because you like that “barely there” look, doesn’t mean that you want it to last on your skin for “barely” two hours. This is probably my only complaint.

Pixi Book of Beauty: Minimal Makeup

This palette really reminds me of Pixi’s Natural Contour Kit palette (which I still reach for quite often). This Minimal Makeup palette is definitely not for someone who likes that full-coverage, full-face makeup. As the name suggests, this palette is created for those who like to enhance their features in a more subtle and minimal way. I personally love using this palette when going for natural makeup looks.
