Perfekt Matte Body Perfection Gel
Guys, I think I’ve found one of my favorite body makeup products ever. It adds a gorgeous color to your skin, masks small imperfections such as redness and bumps, it’s fragrance-free and makes my skin feel smooth as silk.
Right now I’m testing a whole bunch of self-tanning and bronzing products that come at different price points, and this Perfekt Matte Body Perfection Gel is one of my favorite ones so far. It’s definitely been a while since a body product impressed me this much. Perfekt Matte Body Perfection Gel is a gel/cream that gives a temporary color with a smooth matte finish (think foundation for your body). Unlike with other products from this category, you’re not supposed to moisturize your skin prior to applying this, as it can cause some streaking. The Perfekt Matte Body Perfection Gel is formulated with hyaluronic microspheres which promote elasticity, firms and hydrates the skin.
Upon my first application, I squeezed a bit of the product on my skin and immediately thought “whoa, this is way too dark for me.” Thankfully this one-shade-fits-all perfector formula is no joke. The formula is supposed to adjust to your individual skin tone, and it certainly did so for me. As you know (and can see from these photos) I’m quite pale and this worked absolutely great for me. What’s even more awesome is that you can build the color up. It also blends in seamlessly, even when layered for a deeper color and application is completely streak-free, every single time. On the pictures below you can see what my skin looked like with one coat and two.
You know that feeling when you put lotion on your legs, right after you shave them? This is how my skin felt after applying this gel: incredibly soft and smooth. I found that the color stayed on for a very long time and it did not rub off at all (I even took a quick dip in the pool and didn’t notice it wash off). It does wash off in a shower or a bath though. This is perfect to use during summer, especially on your legs because of how smooth and perfect it makes them look. It helps to conceal dry patches, discoloration or varicose veins.
Left to right, top to bottom: before, prior to blending, one coat, two coats.
The only negative thing that I can think of is the size. $48.00 gets you a 3 fl oz. tube, which I think is tiny. But the good news is that the product can be used very sparingly and still provide great results. I was able to get this from dermstore.com with a 20% coupon. I always tell you guys how much I love both Dermstore.com and Skinstore.com and it’s for this very reason: they offer 15% or 20% coupons quite often. I think that the coupon I’ve used had already expired but I believe you can get 15% off your first purchase from Dermstore.com when you subscribe to receive special offers via email (btw, not affiliated with either of those stores, but that’s where I do most of my skincare shopping).

June 19, 2015 at 5:11 pmThe picture you’ve shown of your tanned arm looks so natural! I love how it doesn’t look orange on you! Don’t get me wrong, I’m no expert in self-tan, as I don’t need it, but it looks great!! With the positive things you’ve said about it, I can’t see how it can do wrong! :)

June 22, 2015 at 9:27 amI haven’t heard about this product before and I must admit I never have been tan kind of girl. I try to embrace my friendly ghost Casper look every summer :) And we in Ireland very, very rarely have proper summers.
