The scent of Huile Prodigueuse is one of my favorites for the summer. I love how soft and delicate it is, while being very fresh and unique at the same time.
When I saw that Nuxe released a shower oil containing the Huile Prodiguese fragrance, I ordered it right away. Whenever I apply my Huile Prodiguese dry oil, I always wish that I could just bathe in it, so getting this really made sense.
Nuxe describes this oil as an all-skin-type product that cleanses and leaves a satin finish with delicate fragrance: “An ultra-sensorial shower oil which gently cleanses, leaves a satin finish and a delicate fragrance for a moment of pure pleasure.”
Here’s what I like about this shower oil:
-it smells divine, but we’ve already established that
-it foams very nicely
-feels very soft and smooth on skin when mixed with water
-it contains those tiniest gold, shimmer particles that show on your skin even after you wash the product off
-the fragrance lingers on the skin for a few hours after each use; it’s also perfect for layering with Nuxe Shimmering Dry Oil.
What I don’t like about this product:
-it’s not an oil. Seriously, this feels nothing like oil, it feels just like a very thin shower gel. When mixed with water, the texture does feel quite watery, but it’s nothing like oil.
-sweet almond oil, which is supposed to be a main ingredient in this product, is actually listed almost at the end of the ingredient list, which usually means that it has lower concentration.
-other than feeling very nice in the shower and leaving a lovely fragrance, this did absolutely nothing for my skin. Yes, this does feel nice and very luxurious when used under shower or in a bath, BUT once you get out of the shower and rinse the product off, your skin will feel very dry- well, at least that was my experience with this product. I actually noticed that whenever I use this “oil” I feel like I need to use more lotion than I usually do.
Nuxe Prodigieux Shower Oil is quite nice, but in all honestly, other than leaving that glorious fragrance on the skin, it doesn’t do anything that a bottle of a 3-dollar body wash won’t do. When I ordered this I was hoping that it will truly be an oil, not a gel and that it will leave my skin feeling soft and nourished. I’m obviously a bit disappointed with this product, it turned out to be nothing like what I expected it to be. It’s a shame because usually I love Nuxe product.

July 31, 2015 at 12:10 amIt sucks that this isn’t really an oil, that would have been great. I am curious about that other gold shimmery item in the pic, what is that?

July 31, 2015 at 9:36 amI know :| It’s a great body wash, but not what I expected. The other bottle is a dry oil for face, hair and body. It’s the one I mentioned in the post, it’s pretty awesome and has the same scent. :)

August 4, 2015 at 9:38 amOh don’t get me wrong, the brand itself is great, I use a lot of their products. This shower oil isn’t a bad product at all, it just isn’t what I expected it to be.

July 31, 2015 at 11:54 amShower oil in that tube? That just looks wrong for some reason. Disappointed it’s not as good.
I love the regular dry oil from Nuxe and I do actually use it as a shower oil in winter, it’s very moisturising.
