I think I’ve found myself yet another favorite lipstick from MAC: Brave.
No surprise here, another day, another lipstick from the nude family that Paula is crazy about. Brave is a soft, rosy, neutral pink with satin finish. It’s very creamy and applies with ease. The formula is smooth and non-drying, which is always a plus. When used on its own, it gives a subtle rosy color that’s perfect for office/school wear (think your lips, but better, in terms of color). I, however, like to use it either under a nice lip-gloss or over a lip-liner for a more pigmented color. When paired with a liner, it lasts close to 4 hours on my lips.
I really like pairing Brave with MAC’s Soar Lip Pencil (If you want to see what Soar looks like on its own, you can find my review here). I think they work great together.
I’ve heard that a lot of people compare, or can’t decide between Velvet Teddy and Brave. Both belong in the nude-ish family, but I think that Brave is definitely more wearable, especially if we’re talking about an everyday, natural makeup. I can see it compliment a lot more skin tones than Velvet Teddy. Velvet Teddy, in addition to having a matte finish, is also more of a brown-nude that can wash some skin tones out, whereas Brave is more of a natural-pink-nude. It’s almost the same color as my lips, but a bit more amplified.
