Welcome to the first Lovin’ Lately of 2017.
I know that usually I post these at the beginning of the month, but better late than never, eh? This month’s post doesn’t feature a single makeup product. It’s because I haven’t worn makeup in nearly a month. Crazy, huh? It feels SO weird to admit that.
The thing about grieving is that some days are better than others. Some days the smallest and most insignificant things make you cry and leave you feeling like your heart is being broken all over again. Sobbing and mascara don’t mix too well, which is why I’ve been avoiding makeup altogether.
You’ve probably noticed that I haven’t been very active here, but I’m ready to get back to my regular routine. I think I need it now more than ever. I’ve been keeping busy with re-modeling my little vanity/closet room and I’m also trying to launch my stock photo blog shop soon (fingers crossed!). While I’m not busy painting walls, I’m doing a ton of research and gathering some ideas. BUT, I’m hoping that we’ll be back to regular posting schedule by next month. There are quite a few posts that were requested, posts that I’d promised I’d write, so please know that if you emailed me in the last weeks requesting a post, I’m not ignoring you and they’re coming your way very soon. :)
What I did use a lot of during last couple of weeks, are skincare products. I still think that the best cure for my Absorica dryness on my face and neck (and earlobes, wtf?!) is this drugstore favorite. I’ve also been crazy about few other heavy-duty moisturizers. Perricone MD Multi-Action Overnight* treatment has a quite luxurious feel to it and leaves my skin feeling SO fresh and a bit more “alive” the next day. I’m not too crazy about using this when my skin feels very sensitive as it does have that slight *tingle* to it, but otherwise it’s a really nice treatment.
I’m also a huge fan of Derma-e skincare products. Their Hydrating Night Cream* is a new favorite. It’s very rich, creamy and perfect for dry and dehydrated skin. I love the consistency and the fact that it does not leave my skin feeling greasy but at the same time, it does take care of the dryness and patches.
One more night-time treatment that I actually also love reaching for in the morning as well, is Pixi’s Beauty Sleep Cream*. First of all, even though I love both creams/treatments I just mentioned, you know that I love pump packaging in skincare. Not a huge fan of jar packaging. Here, is where Pixi delivers. Also, unlike the other two treatments, this one is VERY light, fluffy and soft. I was surprised at how such lightweight formula could feel so nice on my dry skin. This does contain Lavender oil (like so many other “night” products), so definitely stay away if you’re allergic to lavender.
I’ve always loved woody fragrances and Gypsy Water by Byredo is…well.. magical. Top notes are bergamot, lemon, pepper and juniper; middle notes are incense, pine needles and orris root; base notes are amber, vanilla and sandalwood. It’s a very unique fragrance that’s very delicate and a little earthy. It not only looks beautiful, but smells gorgeous, too. I’m really looking forward to discovering more Byredo fragrances. Absolutely in love with this one!
I already mentioned this Complex Beauty Afterglow Complexion Mist* on my Instagram a few weeks ago. Face mists are amongst some of my favorite skincare products and this one jumped to the top of the list just after first couple of uses. What’s unique about this mist is that it contains an AHA so it not only refreshes your skin, but also helps brighten it as well. I love using this at night before my moisturizer and I’ve also been loving this on my makeup-free days. Complex Beauty is definitely one of the coolest skincare brands I was introduced to last year.
Last but not least, I totally need to mention one holiday release that I can’t get enough of: Molton Brown’s Vintage 2016 with Elderflower Bath & Shower Gel.* This stuff is SO dreamy. I love using it in the shower, it lathers very lightly, it’s incredibly smooth and smells insanely good. The gorgeous scent of sparkling grapefruit, elderflower and vetiver lingers on my skin for hours. It’s not overwhelming, just really unique and delicate and in all honesty, I think it’s one of the most beautiful scents, I ever got to experience.
What are some products that you guys are loving right now?

January 19, 2017 at 11:39 pmI’ve been using and loving the Bite Beauty Agave Mask for my lips. I don’t know what happened but my lips became like sandpaper overnight, ha! Since I’ve started using the Bite Mask, they have improved so much! I’ve also been really into the Leahlani Mermaid Mask!

January 20, 2017 at 4:02 amI have cut down on mists atm, as it is way too cold for them to be sprayed on my face just before I leave the house in the morning… But I really miss them.

January 20, 2017 at 3:56 pmThat perfume sounds so up my alley. I’ve been loving the Nirvana Black perfume lately… I’m not the biggest fan of flowery perfumes and I only sometimes like sweet ones. I guess this one has an earthier scent, as you said, so I might need to try this once I go through my current one!
Every time I go to Target I look at the Pixi stuff and never buy anything. I’m doing it soon. You always say such wonderful things about them, and I know you’ve told me to get the glow tonic so I just need to do it soon!
I’m glad that it seems like you have a lot of fun stuff keeping you distracted. Grieving sucks… it really is the smallest thing that makes you fall apart the most. I’m excited to see your stock photography shop, and I hope we get to see your vanity/closet room. With what you’ve been pinning I’m sure it’s going to be gorgeous! <3
