Have you ever seen a child crying at a store because their mom/dad refuses to buy them yet another toy? I’ve always looked at that parent trying to rip that toy from the child’s grip while they’re crying “but I waaaanttt itt!!!” and thought “damn, I know how that feels.” That’s exactly how I feel when I’m close to finishing a bottle of perfume. I know I should use it up and throw away the bottle, but I refuse to do so, because… well… I want it, and I want it to last as long as possible.
This has turned into a slight hoarding problem and I’m slowly running out of room to store all my nearly empty bottles of perfume. So, being a responsible grown-up that I am, I convinced myself that doing stuff like that is silly and I will not buy myself another bottle of perfume until I at least finish off two or three bottles of what I already have. This has led me to re-discovering some of my favorite scents, like the Bottega Veneta Eau de Parfum. It’s been an absolute favorite of mine for the past couple of weeks. It’s soft, not floral, very sophisticated and I would even go as far as calling this a slightly unisex fragrance (and if you didn’t know this before: I love unisex fragrances and I sometimes like to layer my perfume with my husband’s cologne).
Another “forgotten hero” is Bobbi Brown’s Shimmer Brick in Rose. I seriously love this highlight/blush powder. It gives such a natural glow, soft shimmer and a little color.
I don’t know if this happens to any of you very often, but I have just much stuff and am so busy most of the time, that sometimes I just forget about all the awesomeness that’s stored in my vanity. This Ambient Lighting Palette by Hourglass has really been a favorite of mine, ever since I bought it, but I found myself not using it as much over the last couple of months. I finally dug it out few weeks a go and became obsessed all over again.
Make Up Forever’s HD foundation has been given a Holy Grail status by so many other bloggers, beauty editors and makeup artists, but I actually did not get a long with it initially. Now that my skin isn’t oily as much, I’m loving this foundation. It’s so lightweight, provides a nice coverage while having a very natural finish. What more can a girl ask for?
Few months a go, in my Spring Beauty Lust List I told you about Laura Mercier’s Paint Wash Liquid Lip Color in Petal Pink. I first saw it on my friend and during the time we’ve hung out I noticed that despite of eating, drinking and talking all night her lips looked perfect, almost as if she just applied the lip color. I ordered one the next day and I absolutely love it. The color is very flattering- a perfect summery pink and the staying power is out of this world. The formula also feels incredibly smooth and comfortable.
I believe that in the past I’ve already mentioned how much I love MAC’s Prep + Prime Face Protect SPF 50 cream. When it comes to SPF, I usually like to use something higher than SPF 35. Even when using a foundation or a bb cream containing SPF, I always wear sunscreen under my base. I love this lotion/cream, because it lets me skip the moisturizer, sunscreen and a primer. It’s sort of a 3 in 1, because it provides SPF protection, nourishes (and doesn’t burn!) the skin, while leaving it nice and supple, ready for foundation application. This wears great under makeup.
Last, but not least there’s NYC’s Liquid Eyeliner. Not so long a go, I told you all about my favorite pen eyeliners, and unfortunately, the one from NYC was one of my least favorites. This liquid eyeliner is a whoooleee different story. It’s probably one of the best drugstore finds as far as makeup goes and I’ve seen countless makeup artists use this in their pictorials. This eyeliner is so easy to work with and has a great, long-lasting formula.
What are you guys loving at the moment?

May 30, 2015 at 3:44 amThe MAC SPF sounds fantastic and I’ve never tried skincare products from them so I really must cheek them out. You’ve also reminded me to use my Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick, it’s been unloved in recent months x
