Laura Mercier Indiscretion Illuminator
Over the last couple of years, I’ve developed deep love for highlighting and illuminating powders.
I don’t have a whole lot of Laura Mercier products in my collection, mainly because after trying one of the makeup sets a few years a go (primer+concealer+tinted moisturizer kind of thing) I developed a severe allergic reaction and that sort of made not want to try any more of their products. Thanks to Sephora’s amazing return/exchange policy, I was able to return that set and get my money back.
Few weeks a go though, I was talking to someone who just couldn’t shut up about this limited edition face illuminator from Laura Mercier. I loved how it looked on her, but I still had my doubts since I had a bit of a bad experience with the brand. I finally decided to get it and all I have to say about this illuminator is: gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous! I love everything from the packaging that includes a huge mirror, to the soft and stunning formula.
Laura Mercier Indiscretion Illuminator ($42.00) has a soft, rose-gold shimmer that’s very easily build able. The formula is finely milled, soft and not chalky, so you don’t get any product fall-out like with some other highlighting and illuminating powders. It doesn’t take a lot of product to bring out that gorgeous, natural glow in your skin, but at the same time there is no need to worry about the product looking too shimmery. Laura Mercier Indiscretion Illuminator does have that rosy-gold color to it, but it looks beautiful even on my light skin tone. It’s also a very long-lasting product, it stays put for good eight hours which to me, makes it worth the price.
Direct sunlightindirect vs. direct light
I love the light texture of this illuminator, it doesn’t feel heavy or overpowering on the skin. If you have large pores, I’d recommend that you be careful not to apply too much product, as it can emphasize them at times.
I’m definitely very much impressed and I think I’m ready to try more Laura Mercier products. Do you guys have any favorites?
Also, make sure you follow me on Instagram, there’s an exciting giveaway happening soon!

August 26, 2015 at 5:52 pmI had the EXACT same experience with Laura Mercier and this highlighter! I tried their tinted moisturizer a while back and developed tiny bumps. I vowed to never use the brand again, but I kept seeing these gorgeous images of MUAs using LM on clients and was swooning for their tinted moisturizer and this highlighter. When I saw that it came out again, I ran and picked it up and also tried the tinted moisturizer again. LOVED both and didn’t break out…not sure if they changed the formula, but they’re both keepers!
Other highlighers I’m obsessed with are Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal, MAC Soft and Gentle, and The Balm Mary Loumanizer…try them if you haven’t already, but I’m sure you’re familiar!

August 29, 2015 at 9:46 amOh no way! That’s crazy that the same thing happened to you! I wonder if it did have something to do with their formula, maybe I’ll give those products a try again. I picked up The Balm’s Mary Loumanizer just a few months a go and I love it. I really want to try Opal from Becca now!

August 27, 2015 at 1:20 amI’m all for rose gold and this illuminator is just gorgeous! I really like the looks of a lot of LM products, but I tried a tinted moisturizer once and broke out really bad and have since stayed away from the brand. I always felt weird about that, but I’m glad I wasn’t alone. Maybe I’ll try something different out now. Maybe even this illuminator. It really is pretty!

August 29, 2015 at 9:50 amWow, I can’t believe that I’m not the only person that this has happened to! That is so strange. Thankfully this illuminator didn’t cause any problems for me :)

June 5, 2016 at 3:00 pmI really like everything I’ve tried so far. She has these Matte Radiance powders that are perfect for subtle highlighting/bronzing. I’m not a fan of glittery stuff in my face so these are perfect for me!
