Who doesn’t love a good, multitasking base that also leaves your skin feeling and looking healthy?
Right now, I’m loving fuller coverage products since I still have some post tretinoin purge hyperpigmentation that’s healing. At the same time though, I love a base that still lets my skin breathe and looks natural, something that does a great job at concealing any redness- since it saves me time and I don’t have to worry about concealers and correctors. IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream Illumination Foundation does pretty much all of the above.

As pretty much with every product, the claims are that it’ll basically be the only makeup product you’ll ever want to use, because, well it’s just so amazing. I picked up the shade Light (there are five shades: Fair, Light, Medium, Tan and Rich) and although it did look a bit dark on me at first, I find that once I set it with powder, it looks great. I usually use Makeup For Ever’s Pro Finish Powder in #113 or Nars’s Light Reflecting Powder to set my foundation in place. Even though my skin is dry right now from the Retin-A use, I’m naturally quite oily, so I always have to set my foundation with powder. I think that even if I didn’t have a tendency to get oily during the day, I’d still set this foundation with powder, because it’s just so illuminating it almost looks a bit shiny. I haven’t been using it long enough to notice a difference in my skin, but to be quite honest, I don’t expect that my skin’s texture will improve from using a makeup product. I will say this though; this CC Cream/Foundation is pretty amazing. I actually think that the formula is very similar to one of my favorite BB Creams: Lioele Triple the Solution.
What I like:
-the packaging is awesome, again, very similar to one of my favorite BB creams: Lioele Triple the Solution BB Cream
-the coverage is great, I’d say as far as to say that it can be build up to a full coverage
-SPF50 which is great, although I still use sunscreen when wearing this or any other BB/CC cream product
-it feels very comfortable on the skin, doesn’t accentuate dry patches, blends nicely
-doesn’t oxidize during the day
-when used with powder, it stays put pretty much all day on my skin
-it’s hydrating
What I don’t like:
-it can be a bit too “glow-y” for my liking, but I think that this will depend on your personal preference. I always have to use powder with this because I find it almost a bit too illuminating
-the shade “Light” wasn’t as light as I have hoped, but once I use my powder, it looks fine.
-I’m not a huge fan of the scent. It’s sort of lemony, reminds me of something I’d clean my bathroom with. The good news is, it doesn’t linger, as soon as the product is blended, the smell isn’t detectable.
Overall I have to say that I’m liking this CC Cream/Foundation. The coverage is definitely nice and it’s a perfect product for when you’re in a hurry- there’s no need to spot conceal and it will give your skin a nice, healthy glow.
