This post was created in partnership with Curél®, a KAO Worldwide brand.
..or in other words, let’s talk about a drugstore superstar. Few weeks ago I told you guys that I’ll be putting Curél® Hydra Therapy Wet Skin Moisturizer to the test (find my previous post right here) and I’m here to report the results.
Curél® Hydra Therapy Wet Skin Moisturizer is a product I apply just after showering. As it’s applied on wet skin, the water-activated formula works deep into the skin’s surface to repair the moisture barrier. Massage a small amount into the skin and since there’s no need to rinse- just dry off with a towel.
I know that I’ve been talking about dry skin A LOT here on the blog over the last couple of months. This is because it’s been quite a struggle for me during my acne treatment. As someone who has naturally extremely oily skin, I wasn’t used to dealing with constant dry patches and itchiness (not only on my face, but all over my body). I also developed eczema on my hands and arms and let me tell you, the dry skin that comes with it is not a fun thing to deal with- especially during cold weather.
So… why wet skin?
When applying Curél® Hydra Therapy Wet Skin Moisturizer while your skin is still wet and warm from the steam and heat of the water, the expanded skin cells absorb or “trap” the moisture much easier. This allows the Advanced Ceramide Complex to penetrate to the source of dryness and replenish the ceramide levels in your skin.
Here’s one of the best things about this moisturizer: it’s very light and doesn’t feel greasy. The formula feels like a mix between a gel and a cream and it glides on skin very smoothly. This means:
-no residue in your shower or tub (they key is to not use too much product) -doesn’t feel sticky
-it won’t stain or leave a film on your towels
-you don’t have to wait for it to absorb: just apply on wet skin, pat dry and get dressed
A lot of traditional lotions can feel a bit heavy and/or sticky on skin. I know that I often spend what seems like ages, rubbing them in, waiting for the product to absorb. Curél® Hydra Therapy Wet Skin Moisturizer is different- there’s no wait time and it’s very easy to incorporate into your beauty routine.
My results
I noticed a difference in my skin after about a week or so after incorporating the Curél® Hydra Therapy Wet Skin Moisturizer into my routine daily. One of the most uncomfortable things that come with dealing with dry skin is the itchiness and when I noticed that post-shower itchiness go away, I was sold. I also love the feeling of that instant relief it gives my dry skin. Kind of like having a cold glass of lemon water when you’re really thirsty but you know… for your skin :)
I think that I noticed the biggest improvement on my arms and hands- which are the areas of my skin where I’ve developed eczema and where my skin is dry the most. My skin now feels smooth to touch and I actually keep one bottle of the Curél® Hydra Therapy Wet Skin Moisturizer by my kitchen sink as well. Every single time I wash my hands during cooking or when I’m cleaning up, I follow-up with a smallest amount of the moisturizer while my hands are still wet, and pat them dry with a towel. This calms my skin down and leaves it feeling soft.
Another thing I love about the Curél® Hydra Therapy Wet Skin Moisturizer is that it’s fragrance free, too. If you know me, then you know that I also have to mention the packaging. The pump bottle is very shower-friendly, doesn’t clog and is convenient to use. You don’t have to worry about trying to open a lotion bottle while your hands are wet- the pump is a perfect in-shower solution.
Best part? You can pick up Curél® Hydra Therapy Wet Skin Moisturizer at your local drugstore.

March 27, 2017 at 7:42 amThis is such a good find! I actually love applying any of my body lotions while my skin is still a bit wet. It makes such a big difference for some reason. I might need to give this one a go!

March 27, 2017 at 4:58 pmIt definitely does make a difference. I feel like the lotion actually absorbs, instead of just “sitting” on skin.

March 28, 2017 at 6:23 amI need something like this for my hands, they’re so dry all the time! and also my knees. Using it whilst the skin is wet also seems so logical, why hand’t I thought of that before? xx

March 28, 2017 at 7:29 amHaving oily skin is one thing, but then also dealing with dry patches makes everything harder. I don’t think I used wet moisturiser before, I will keep an eye on that to see if I’d find it at my local drugstore. x

March 28, 2017 at 9:00 amI know! I’m so not used to being so dry all over. It’s the worst on my arms and hands and this is such a quick and convenient way to use a body lotion. x

March 28, 2017 at 7:47 amI love to apply lotion just out of the shower, but it never absorbs quite right when my skin is still a bit wet. This sounds like exactly what I’m looking for! Loving that it’s at the drugstore too.

March 28, 2017 at 9:01 amThis formula absorbs really nicely and I love that it doesn’t leave any residue on my towels hehe

March 28, 2017 at 8:31 amDo you wait a few seconds before patting with a towel? This whole applying concepts while your skin is wet is very popular in Korean skin care. I think the comparison they use is, try putting lotion on a dry sponge- it won’t absorb. But try putting it on a wet sponge and it will soak right in. I’m always rushing to moisturize when I get out of the shower, but obviously I have to prioritize my face hehe.

March 28, 2017 at 9:02 amOh I never knew that, that’s interesting! I usually start on my arms and neck and by the time I get to my legs most of it has absorbed and I just pat dry with a towel. The sponge comparison makes SO much sense! hehe :)

March 28, 2017 at 1:08 pmThis is very interesting! The idea would take me a while to get used to because it would be natural for me to dry myself off before putting product on. This is a great idea and very logical… why would you take water off only to put the moisture/lotion back on??
