THIRTEEN THOUGHTS

Frederic Fekkai Hair Mask with Shea Butter

mask anti damage hair My 4th of July weekend consisted primarily of laying in the sun and swimming (or rather sitting in) the pool. I rarely spend my summer days laying in the sun, because all I tend to think about is how damaging it is to my skin! BUT, since my hubby, who almost never gets any vacation time from work, got a whole 4-day weekend off, I made an exception. And so my list of things to do around the house (clean the fridge, organize the pantry, clean out the garage) is still laying on my kitchen counter, untouched (as is the power drill-which has been laying under the kitchen table for 6 weeks now, despite my pleadings to  hubby to put it away- gotta love married life;) ).

And so after blissful 4 days in the sun and chlorine water, my hair was so dry, stiff and almost dreadlocks-like, it looked something like this:

I tried deep-conditioning it (mixing different conditioners together and leaving on my hair-tip I learned from a hair stylist), it didn’t do much; an egg mask did seem to help a little bit, but my hair still felt dry, so to Target I went!

I picked up this wonderful Fekkai Shea Butter Damage Protecting Hair Mask. I put it on washed hair really massaging it in, put on a cap, wrapped in a warm towel and left on for 20 mins. After that I air-dried my hair and my oh my! My hair felt so soft and bouncy, it hasn’t felt like this since my pre-ombre days. I just couldn’t stop touching it. The mask is not only supposed to be a “treatment for dry, unruly hair that lacks luster”, but it’s also supposed to protect the hair from any future damage.

I paid about $20.00 for this mask, which I thought was rather expensive but I’ve never tried any Fekkai products, so I decided to give it a try. It worked a lot better than a Bumble & Bumble mending mask that I got at sephora once, a while ago, for about $35.00.

I only used it twice, but as of right now, I’d say it’s definitely worth the price. It also smells amazing!!

<After the treatment, I didn’t even have to style my hair. Once it air-dried, it strangely looked like I just had a blowout.

I’m really considering cutting my hair super short though, but as always, I’m afraid I’ll regret it later. Decisions, decisions….
