After going through my quarter-life-crisis back in April, I found myself looking in the mirror every morning in anticipation of finding that first, sad wrinkle on my face. Every morning, as I open my eyes, laying down, looking into nothingness, I ask myself “oh no…. is today the day??” And as I look for them in the mirror, to no avail, I rejoice, for today is still a day when I can pass for a 20-year old.
All jokes aside, I really did notice that I might have developed a bit of an age (or an anti-age) obsession lately. Aging soul? Awesome. Aging skin? No bueno. As we know, the skin around the eyes is definitely that one area where age starts to show first. I’m afraid, I can no longer spend my nights dancing in the club…. oh, who am I kidding.. I’m afraid, I can no longer spend my nights reading Harry Potter or binge-watching HIMYM (or drinking a whole bottle of wine and stuffing my face with cheese, because, let’s face it, we all need that sometimes) until dawn and not have it show in my eyes. That gray, zombie-like cast, that puffy can-I-please-go-back-to-bed-just-five-more-minutes-I-promise look. No. Nobody wants that.
Few months a go I told you guys that after trying out a sample I really wanted to buy Estee Lauder’s Advanced Night Repair Eye Cream. The sample that I had was a deluxe-size sample that lasted me for almost two weeks. Once I was done with the sample, I threw the jar away and didn’t think anything of it. It was when I ran out of that sample when I realized how great this gel worked for me. I noticed that the skin around my eyes looked a bit dull and I couldn’t figure out what was it that I started doing that was causing it. Turns out, it wasn’t what I was doing, but what I stopped doing.I then went and got myself a full-sized jar ($58.00, right now Nordstrom has it on sale for $52.20).
This, is probably the first high-end anti-aging eye cream that didn’t cause my skin to burn. I’ve used tons of anti-aging eye creams, most I had to get rid of after the first use. With Estee Lauder’s Advanced Night Repair Eye Cream (quite a mouthful here), I didn’t experience any irritation or redness. As soon as it’s applied, my skin feels so incredibly smooth and the product is absorbed almost instantly. I don’t really have too many lines around my eyes just yet so I can’t tell whether this helps to minimize them, but I definitely noticed that I no longer wake up with puffy eyes. The skin around my eyes also seems a bit brighter too, which is definitely a plus. This of course, is a night treatment, and it’s usually the second product that I apply on my skin right after washing my face at night. I just love the way this feels on my skin, especially after a long day or after wearing heavy eye makeup (my skin always feels mega dry after) when it feels very soothing and calming.
Gel-cream formula is awesome. It has a perfect consistency, it’s not too runny, not too thick. This may be one of the very few eye creams that doesn’t turn my eyelids into an oily mess, doesn’t feel greasy at all. Actually, if I were to be extremely picky, I’d say that I would like this formula to be juuust a tiny bit more moisturizing. A tiny bitty more.
Anyone tried it? Loved it? Didn’t get along with it?

December 16, 2014 at 6:38 amI love ANR [eye!] I use it day and night! The serum version is around the same price and can be used in conjunction with another eye cream if you’re looking for a little more moisture! :) (Boo to additional steps though, lol) Always enjoy your posts :)
