I’m finally seeing someone new next Saturday, and I’m really hoping that this time when asking for a trim, I won’t end up with a bob. I’ve actually been growing out my hair for the past year and love the current length. I’m not too big on using hot styling tools, I’m also allergic to hair dye, so my hair isn’t very damaged. Still, not getting it trimmed for so long means that I’m starting to experience some dryness and split ends.
I really like to keep things minimal when it comes to hair care. I use a super cheap shampoo and conditioner ($3 each, both from Suave and work great) and occasionally do an overnight coconut oil treatment. To help remedy that awful dryness I’ve been experiencing lately, I’ve been using John Frieda’s Frizz Ease Nourishing Oil Elixir with Argan Oil.
I apply this on my hair when it’s almost dry after washing by massaging it into my hair, mid-length down. As with all leave-in oils, I avoid using this on my scalp. This Oil Elixir not only helps with the frizziness, but it also helps to seal in moisture in the ends of my hair, where it’s dry and brittle. I love that this does not weigh my hair down or leave a greasy residue, even though I’m applying it to my hair when it’s almost dry. Less is more of course, this oil is very lightweight, but it is possible to overdo it and end up with greasy-looking hair. And that’s not cute. This oil is one of those products that makes my hair so soft that I can’t stop touching it. It definitely gets two thumbs up from me.
