7 Product Holiday Glam
You know what? I was never much of a red-lipstick girl.
First of all, it’s a pain in the ass to apply. It just gets all over the place. Your hands, your nose, your cheeks (no? just me? okay…). Oh, and your teeth. Honestly, red lipstick is a bitch.
But….. also… it looks SO pretty. It’s definitely a holiday favorite, too. There’s no denying that. Most of you will probably know that NYX Matte lipsticks are my favorite lipsticks and the shade Alabama is one I’ve been loving lately. It’s red, but it isn’t super intense or intimidating. It doesn’t scream. It just sits there and looks pretty. It’s a gorgeous brick red that’s super easy to pull off.
For my base I used Chanel Vitalumière Aqua, which I’m loving right now. Of course, it’s due to the fact that my skin is really dry at the moment. When my acne was still pretty severe, I had to put at least three-four layers of this foundation (it has a very thin, watery formula) to get a decent coverage. Now, that I’m almost 100% clear, all I need are a few drops. I don’t even need powder. Hope it stays this way when get off Absorica!
For my eyes I used Nude Dip Quad. I used the lightest shade all over the lid, the brow bone and my inner corner, and the darkest shade along my lower and upper lash lines. Easy and super quick. I applied my favorite mascara: Dior Iconic Overcurl and then decided (last minute) to add some falsies. I used Ardell Demi Wispies, my all-time favorite falsies that aren’t over-the-top. I actually trim them as well, for an even more natural and subtle look/feel. I usually don’t wear falsies, unless I know that I’m going somewhere where a lot of pictures will be taken, or when I don’t wear a whole lot of eye makeup when going out.

Now, I’m not much a bronzer person, either. Especially during winter. Reason being: I have a lot of acne scars on my cheeks and adding bronzer makes them look more prominent. I do love the Filmstar Bronze & Glow duo. Neither the bronzing nor the highlighting powder are too intense for my liking. When using bronzing products, I always go with a big, fluffy brush because I’m not a fan of a heavily sculpted makeup on myself.
And of course, the brows. ABH Dip Brow in Chocolate, because what else? Does the job well and stays on forever.
**I don’t mean to end this post like this, but I feel the need to be honest with you guys. Right now, I’m in shambles. My grandma, who I am extremely close to and just told you about in my last post, has been suffering from cancer for years and was suddenly taken to a hospital yesterday. I don’t want to get into too much detail right now, but if I seem a little distant, or not as present as I usually am, it’s because I’m going through something I’ve never been through before. I’m not letting myself go to that place, but I’m just a little bit all over the place right now. I feel lost. I really feel lost right now and I don’t know what to do with myself. To be completely honest, this blog keeps me sane, in a lot of ways. Not writing or reading through and replying to your comments, even if for a day, leaves me feeling like I’m missing an arm. This post was scheduled to go up yesterday, but I just didn’t feel right publishing it. I have a few posts scheduled to go up in the next couple of days, but it might take me a while to get back to your comments.
I don’t really know what else I can say at this point, other than that I’m really thankful for all of you. This isn’t how I imagined this Christmas to be like and even though I’m supposed to host this year, I didn’t even start my cooking or cleaning or even planning anything. Right now, that’s the last thing on my mind. I just feel really lost- don’t know how else to put it.
I guess I’ll just end this right here, because I feel like I’m making no sense right now. Love you. Mean it.
